Nationally there is a 70% drop out rate for teen moms. Our Pregnant and Parenting Teen Program makes the difference, helping Orlando teens change their lives. BETA Center created a unique collaboration with Orange County Public Schools to establish BETA Alternative School, combining academics with an in-depth support program.

The difference begins when you walk through the door. We have found the key to success is BETA Center's atmosphere of empowerment and safety, and our nonjudgmental and respectful attitude toward these young women. This environment makes it possible for students, many for the first time, to become engaged in the learning process. But the needs go far beyond the classroom - so BETA's Pregnant & Parenting Teen Program meets the critical needs of young women and their children for their new family life.

In addition to academic classes students attend "BETA" classes and services for prenatal and parenting education, counseling, life-skills and personal enrichment, academic support and career preparation. The children of the student/mothers are just a few steps away in the onsite childcare center.

BETA Center weaves a web of support around the teen, her child and extended family, to keep her in school and enhance her ability to build life-skills, raise a healthy child, avoid repeat pregnancies and achieve a self-sufficient future.
