Does "BETA" stand for something?
BETA originally was an acronym, but we stopped using it as the agency grew to encompass a broader range of services.

How can BETA Center help me?
By sharing the information we have learned over the past 25 years on how to help children as they grow up and by offering our support to families.

I don't want to feel bad about my mistakes. Can you still help me?
Yes, we will treat you with respect and without judgment.

How many BETA Centers are there?
Just one; we started in Orlando in 1976.

Do you just serve teenagers?
We have programs for children, youth and adults along with our specialized program for pregnant and parenting teens.

Do you have services for moms and dads, boys and girls?
Yes!

Do I have to pay for services?
The answer is probably no, most of our services are provided for free. Some of
our parenting workshops do have a fee. Please call for more information.

Do you provide any medical care?
We do not have any medical services.

Do you provide any financial assistance?
We can refer you to other organizations who can offer that service.

Is BETA Center aligned with any religious or political philosophy?
No, the agency does not have any such affiliations. We do value the faith community's role in supporting families.

Where does BETA Center get their funding?
BETA Center seeks and enjoys a broad base of support. Our income is generated from individuals, corporations, civic and service groups, faith-based organizations and fees for services. We receive grants from local and national philanthropic foundations as well as limited funding from government sources. BETA Center is a Heart of Florida United Way agency.

What kind of donations does BETA Center need?
In addition to financial contributions we need canned foods, dry cereals, pastas etc., baby supplies and items for children. We also need general office supplies.

Can I volunteer at BETA Center?
YES! We have many volunteer and mentoring opportunities.

What is your purpose?
All of our services work to prevent child abuse and neglect with a goal of self-sufficiency and empowerment. We provide research-based and unduplicated services for families, no matter their age, race, ethnicity or economic status.
