BETA Center Update
Just a week ago we were saddened by the announcement of BETA Center closing its doors. But today there is new hope; we are happy to announce that BETA’s legacy of enriching the lives of young mothers, babies and the community will continue on. UCP of Central Florida, an agency that helps to empower children with and without disabilities, has committed to blend their services with many of the services BETA has provided over the last 40 years to the Central Florida community.
BETA Center will continue its operation as a school, shelter and day care through June, when it will become part of UCP. Though the details have yet to be worked out, the goal is to keep as much as possible, including some of the 50 employees and possibly even the name “BETA” for the school or one of the programs. But BETA as an independent nonprofit will cease to exist after June.
Because UCP’s mission to empower families closely aligns with BETA Center’s mission, the essence of BETA Center will continue to live on.

In the coming weeks there will be some changes to our services:
- Thursday April 13, 2016 will be the last day that BETA Center will be able to provide pregnancy testing. A list of alternative sites can be found on the United Way 211 website here.
